# Introduction to Missions: Lane Willis, MDiv ## Course: Introduction to Missions ## Teacher: Lane Willis, MDiv --- ## Course Description The course “Introduction to Missions” seeks to display the importance of rightly defining mission so that it might result in biblically faithful practice. As the only class on missions in your curriculum, this class will serve as a general introduction. This class will also seek to give practical steps forward that you might apply what you have learned in your life and ministry. ## Student Learning Outcomes 1. The student will identify the biblical and theological basis for mission. 2. The student will define terminology often used in missions. 3. The student will trace the history of missions for the world and Vietnam. 4. The student will discuss practical applications stemming from a biblical definition of mission. 5. The student will assess current church planting methods and recommend the way forward. ## Course Requirements 1. Course Lectures/Course Participation - Each student is expected to listen to and participate in each lecture. 2. Final Exam - Each student will complete a 25-question multiple-choice exam on the Friday of the class. Students will be given an hour and a half to complete the exam. This exam will test your memory. The four verses below are the passages that will be assigned to you for that day. You will be tested on these verses on your final exam. ### Monday: Luke 24:46-47 ### Tuesday: 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 ### Wednesday: 2 Peter 3:9 ### Thursday: Isaiah 49:6 --- ## Additional Resources - A QR Code will be provided with access to websites, articles, and other material. - I have written a brief essay on the Biblical Theology of Missions.
